New photo exhibition is full of engaging, innovative work
There are two separate collections of work from local artists, photographer Rick Moye and printmaker Agata Read, and the exhibition highlights how the use of alternative processes reflects the desires in the artists, thus leading us to see things in a different light. ‘Fixing the Shadows’ and ‘Notes on Nature’ allow the audience to view images in dissimilar ways to the norm and open up their creative side.
Rick Moye is a St Leonards- based photographer who takes inspiration from the landscape and the life that lives upon it. To present this subject he has revived processes of photography dating back to the early 1800s. Using these processes such as the collodian or the platinum-palladium print, he manages to capture the slow way photographs were captured before the time of click-and-done.

Hide AdAgata Read is a St Leonards-based printmaker working with traditional screens alongside digital techniques.
Her images are often from her walks in the Sussex countryside and then processed with layers of screen prints back in her ancestral home of Gdansk.
Showcasing these bodies of work together, the exhibition will ask the audience to see through the artist’s eyes’ and engage with the works on a higher level to normal thinking. The art on display is sure to be engaging and innovative for all.
