This was always likely to be a close match and every Sussex player fought tooth and nail to ensure a narrow, but well-deserved victory.
The mixed doubles were shared two matches each. Likewise, the boys’ singles ended two matches to each side. In the girls’ singles Sussex edged ahead, taking three matches to one.

Hide AdMiddlesex reversed this by winning the boys’ doubles three matches to one. With just the four girls’ doubles matches left the sides were level on eight matches each. Eva Craig and Emma Ford pulled out all the stops to beat the Middlesex number one pair in yet another close match.
The second Sussex pair, Bea Noakes and Robyn Haysom continued to apply the pressure and ensure that the girls secured three of their four doubles matches.
So it ended Sussex 11, Middlesex 9. Congratulations to the whole team, Eva Craig, Emma Ford, Robyn Haysom, Bea Noakes, Adam Davies, Ben Smith, Xander Tosney and Thomas Wood on a fantastic performance! The team was superbly lead by coach Will Hilton-Jackson and enjoyed the support and encouragement of team managers Andrew Craig and Julia Smith.
