Hide AdAlex Burrows put up more resistance at No4 for Bognor playing Scott Williams but was unfortunate not to get at least a point, pushing the Crawley man close in every game - score 9-7, 9-7, 10-8.
Bognor third string Jon Burley also went down in three games as opponent Chris Sexton had a relatively comfortable win.
The clash of the No1 strings was no better as Paul Butcher lost in straight games to give Crawley a 5-0 margin and 20 points to Bognor’s one.
Bognor’s juniors fared little better in their league match with Copthorne, losing 3-0, and were beaten by the same score in a friendly with Littlehampton.
