Day three of our 14-day look back at the local sporting highlights of 2014 takes us to Oaklands Park, where Chichester RFC were roared on to promotion to the National League for the first time in their history.
After finishing second in London one south, they faced a one-off play-off against Eton Manor for a place in National three London south east.
They were asked in the Observer to be heroes – and were. The Blues beat Eton Manor 25-16 in the play-off on an afternoon never to be forgotten.
