Rugby: Chichester lads battle, but end on losing side

Chichester A hosted Brighton RFC in their third league game of the campaign.
Not renowned for their quick starts Chichester were 14-0 down within 15 minutes - the first points they have conceded this season.

Hide AdBut they showed their strength of character as they hit back through Coppin on the wing following great set-up play by the forwards and quick hands out to the wing.
Hoolahan burst through the Brighton defence to score the second, which was duly converted by Martin leaving the scores delicately poised at 14-12 at half-time.
The first try in the second half was going to be crucial but it went to Brighton who scored with quick hands and great pace. Brighton then took control of the match.

Hide AdIn only their second game of the season Chichester under-13Bs kicked off on a frosty but sunny morning against a strong A team from Petersfield RFC.
The visitors were quickly into their stride, scoring a try despite resolute defence. It was not to be Chi’s day as they were unable to get over the visitors’ line for what would have been a well-deserved consolation try.
