Heath youth rugby coaches hold masterclass at Handcross Park
Last week Dan Vander, a former pupil at Handcross Park himself who now coaches the Under 10s at HHRFC and Glen Jones, Head of Youth Rugby at the Club, held training sessions over three days for the school class equivalent of Under 9s through to Under 13s, focusing on the specific skills of rucking and tackling at a level relevant for each age group.
Commenting on the sessions, Julian Evans, Head of Sport at Handcross Park said “The boys had a great time learning new skills from experienced youth rugby coaches - an external different voice that really grabbed the boys’ attention - and the sessions also gave our sports team some new ideas to focus on in future training sessions.”
