World number 36 Robertson, from Bexhill, was a 6-2 victor over St Leonards-based Davis in round two at the York Barbican, knocking in a magnificent 140 break along the way.
Robertson got off to a flying start, winning all of the first four frames in a match between two friends who regularly practice together at O'Sullivan's Snooker & Pool Club in Bexhill.

World number 30 Davis got himself on the scoreboard with a run of 89 to clinch frame five only for Robertson to move within one of victory at 5-1 thanks to an 84 in the next.
Davis kept the match alive with a splendid 107 in frame seven, but Robertson sealed victory in the next with the help of a 61 - his third 60-plus break of the match in addition to the 140.
Robertson's reward is a third round meeting with 61st-ranked rising star Oliver Lines, who stunned world number three Judd Trump 6-2 last night. That match will take place from 1pm tomorrow.
