Local rider wins championship showjumping class at Hickstead Horse Show’s Equestrian.com Derby Meeting

The West Sussex-based rider notched up a win in the Camardo Coffee Open Championship on Thursday 25th, the second day of competition. Pavitt rode Old Lodge Stud’s ‘Shahenaz’ to victory in the 1.35m class in Hickstead’s famous international arena. The pair earned the right to contest the overall honours in the Championship having qualified in Wednesday’s preliminaries.
Pavitt was one of only two riders to post a clear round in both phases.

Hide AdThe Equestrian.com Hickstead Derby meeting (24-28 June) is home to the renowned Hickstead Derby, one of the world’s toughest and most prestigious showjumping competitions. The event features a number of international showjumping classes, national classes for amateurs and young horses, as well as elite showing championships. In the region of 45,000 spectators flock to the Sussex showground for the Derby meeting each year, with around 15,000 of those arriving on Derby day.
