Historic Double
Minta, who is based in Thakeham, is widely renowned for her prestigious successes in carriage driving with ponies, but this season has been competing with Thorneyside The Foreman, an impressive chestnut, aged 11, who is known affectionately at home as George.
She said: "He is an amazing horse, personable, but with the ability to perform well. He has got better all season and enjoyed it. If he was a man, I'd marry him!"

Hide AdThe remarkable double has taken them into the records books, for while horses have won both titles, it has never been done in the same season before. The victories were all the more remarkable because The Foreman had been out of competition for 18 months prior to this season while his owner was establishing his new business, Country Harvest at Ingleton in North Yorkshire.
