Cousins, who won the title in 2014, ran superbly to cover the five miles in 31.59 and just 13 seconds behind the eventual winner from Brighton & Hove.
It was an excellent turnout from the Harriers across the age groups where other notable performances came from Marcus Kimmins who finished ninth amongst the V40 men over six miles and Katherine Buckeridge who was 12th V45 lady over four miles. There were also top team positions for the men who finished fourth in both the V40 and V50 age classifications.
