GOLF_COTTESMORE SUCCESSES
The Cottesmore Golf Club pair starred in the inaugural San Jose Challenge Cup at Crown Golf's St Mellion International Hotel, Golf and Country Club in Cornwall.
James, who plays off a handicap of 10, scored 39 points to become the individual winner of the competition, while Iona, with a nine handicap, scored 37 points for second place.

Hide AdThe couple were part of the victorious Cottesmore Golf Club line-up, completed by Ed Whiffen, Mike Walsh, Steve Helm, Mike Swatman, Ann Morgan and Annette Walsh, which scooped the team title with a score of 135 Stableford points (best four individual scores counting).
James and Iona, who live in Horsham, have been members of Cottesmore for 12 years and were both named club champions last year '“ a title Iona continues to hold.
She said: "We didn't know how well each other was doing in the San Jose final until the end of the competition, as James had teed off ahead of me.
"But when I found out that he'd just nudged me into second place I was delighted for him '“ there's absolutely no rivalry between us."

Hide AdMore than 30 teams from around the country played in the final of the competition, sponsored by San Jose, which is one of the leading developers of golf property in the Costa Blanca and Murcia regions of southern Spain.
Cottesmore Golf Club also boasts another national champion, after club member Ross Herbert was named the Crown Golf group's Men's Champion of Champions
Following his home-course win over 45 other competitors at Cottesmore, Ross went on to play in the Champion of Champions final, held at Abbotsley Golf Club in Cambridgeshire.
