Town see off Wick once again
It was double delight for Town after they saw off Wick’s challenge in the FA Vase on Saturday with a 6-2 home success in the FA Vase first-round qualifying.
Steyning boss Alan Skipper was pleased to get the victory but felt his side underperformed and said: “I am obviously happy with the result if not the performance, but we made five changes to Saturday’s side with those coming in possibly a bit rusty and short of match fitness. We’ve got a decent squad and the players did the job tonight.”

Hide AdTown came into the game a little over confident and struggled for mush of the first-half.
They were given an early warning sign as Karl Westbrook tested Ben Rose in the Wick goal.
Town then fell behind on 31 minutes as Matt Noble bundled home a corner for the visiting side.
It took Steyning just nine minutes to reply as Callum Towse’s corner found its way past a couple of motionless defenders and levelled the scores.

Hide AdSteyning came out with more purpose in the second period but were grateful to Rose as he somehow kept out a Westbrook header on 51 minutes.
Town did take the lead in the five minutes later, though, as the industrious Craig Knowles calmly took the ball around Billy Nash and slotted into an empty net.
Wick piled men forward in closing stages but failed to find an equaliser as Town progress in the competition.
