Oakwood let slip lead before being held by Southwick

Oaks went behind after only three minutes after losing the ball as Southwick midfielder Dean Smith drove through the defence and his shot slip past Jess Grimstone’s out-stretched hand.
Oaks were back on level terms just two minutes later when the ball was played out from a corner to Grant Miller to win it back and spread the ball into the path of Scott Faber who drove towards goal and sweetly struck the ball into the top corner from outside the box.

Hide AdOn 25 minutes Southwick played a sloppy ball across their defence to the centre back who slipped and miss controlled it for Jack McNab to pounce and outpaced the Southwick defence towards goal and slot past the keeper.
Oaks extended their lead to 3-1 just a minute later as Toby Gilbert played a cross-field ball for Aiden Cawte to run on to. He drove down the left wing, beating his opponent he then delivered a tasty cross from the goalline, which missed out all players in the box and nestled in the top corner.
Southwick pulled a goal back ten minutes later when Andrew McDowell seized upon some sloppy defending.
The final blow came not long after, with Southwick taking advantage of some nervous football to draw level at 3-2 through Lee Denyer five minutes before half-time.

Hide AdIn the the second half both teams probed the defence and although the Oaks hit the cross bar on numerous occasions, they couldn’t find the back of the net.
