Lancers arrest run with RUR Cup win
Lancers trailed 1-0 at half-time, but second-half goals from Sam O’Regan and Darren Boswell got them back to winning ways and into the third round.
Manager Martin Gander believes it is a sign of how far his side have come after eyebrows were raised during their recent blip - which included exiting the FA Vase with a 5-0 drubbing by Peacehaven on Saturday.

Hide AdHe said: “It was a welcome victory. We had a run of three hard games and suffered three defeats.
“It’s quite amazing how people have reacted to our run of defeats. Against Rye, if we had scored the penalty, we would have won or drawn, a few decisions went against us at Pagham.
“Then, on Saturday, we played a very good side, although the scoreline was a bit horrible, but it just shows the expectation on Lancing FC, which is good, really.
“People have got to remember we were only promoted into the division last season and achieved our highest-ever finish, so, personally, I’m very happy with how things are going.”

Hide AdEast Grinstead opened the scoring on 32 minutes through John Sinclair, while Lancers keeper Joel Harding produced a fine stop to keep it to just 1-0 at the break.
Lancing levelled on 61 minutes when a short corner routine between Boswell and Hudson saw the latter deliver for O’Regan to poke home.
Grant Phillpott then advanced from centre-back down the left to cross for the striding Boswell to convert with 15 minutes left.
