Ferry: Pompey won't play long-ball game
The Scottish midfielder has seen some of the Blues’ opponents this term adopt a more agricultural style of play with Burton Albion particularly direct last weeekend.
Guy Whittingham has already stated he wants his side to play entertaining, attacking football.

Hide AdBut he also knows his defence must be prepared to stand up to the kind of aerial bombardment they faced at the Pirelli Stadium.
Ferry, however, is a key figure in getting the team’s passing going and has no intention of advocating a change in tactics.
He insists Pompey are playing the best brand of football in the division.
Ferry said: ‘I’ve not seen the kind of football we are playing being played by anyone else in this division.

Hide Ad‘You see other teams bomb it forward all the time but we like to get it down and play as much as we can.
‘We play some really good football – especially for this league.
‘We’ve definitely got a good team and we will keep trying to play the right way because we have got the players to do it.’
And a month or so into the season, Ferry also believes the Blues are starting to see an understanding develop between the players.

‘Suddenly, it just clicks. You get to know people, you get to know how they think and how they play. Then it all starts to click together.’
