Doherty has spent almost four years with the club after signing in September of 2017. Doherty has made over 100 appearances for the Reds, most recently coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 loss to Cambridge United last weekend.
Doherty joined the club under then-manager, Harry Kewell, as one of the Australian’s first signings for the club. The Northern Irish full-back played under Kewell in the Watford youth setup before joining the Reds.
