Crawley AC quartet gain national multi-event glory
Rowland, 24, set a new personal best and club record scoring 4,069 points.
Her performances were: 60m hurdles 8.91s, 800m 2.23.1, high jump 1.66m long jump 5.91m, shot putt 12.93m.

Hide AdHer only individual PB was in the long jump with an effort of 5.91 putting another 9cm on her previous best and taking her just 4cm short of Crawley’s 25-year-old record for the individual event.
Rowland said: “I was surprised with how well it went. I thought it would be solid and am really happy with my long jump distance. Now I really want to jump 6 metres!
“I am aiming for GB selection and hopefully will find out this week.”
Rowland has already represented her country twice in international competition. She began with last January’s international combined events international match in Valencia in Spain where she notched up a PB of 4,000 points on the way to finishing sixth.

Hide AdJo then made her outdoor debut for her country last summer at the European Cup in Estonia.
Also making her debut in the pentathlon was Crawley AC’s Becky Owen scoring a total of 2,172 points, with no less than four individual PBs on the day.
In the men’s heptathlon, Richard Reeks has made a welcome return to Crawley AC.
Reeks returned to athletics after a three-year break from competing while training for the Royal Marines.

Hide AdHe scored a spectacular 5,734 points giving him a new PB and won a national title.
Richard’s performances were: 60 metre sprint 7.05, long jump 7.15m, shot putt 13.25m, high jump 2.00m, 60m hurdles 8.02s, pole vault 4.57m, 1000m 02:48.87 - 5,734 points
Crawley’s Under-23 athlete Jamie Moore scored 3,840 points in the same competition.
These results bode well for this year’s outdoor season with both Jo and Richard aiming to be selected for the Commonwealth Games to be held in Glasgow.
