Goals from Brannon O’Neill, Sam Rents - his first since returning to Worthing in the summer - and Lloyd Dawes helped Worthing back to winning ways after a 2-1 defeat at Needham Market on Saturday.
Former Ipswich, Hull City and Fulham midfielder Bullard, who took charge of Leatherhead last month, believes Worthing were the best team going forward he has faced in his eight games so far and said: “Worthing thoroughly deserved the win and our goalkeeper kept us in it second half. They had some individuals that I’d love to have for choice in my team.

“I’d say they were the best we’ve played against going forward so far, they were frightening at times. Every time they came forward they looked dangerous and we struggled to cope.
“Will Hendon, Kane Wills, although he’s an older head, Omar Bugiel and Lloyd Dawes were four that really impressed me. Them four going forward, especially Omar, were fantastic and Will wants to join in from right-back.”
As well as Worthing played, Bullard felt his side could have done better at the back.

“There were some real good positives but some bad negatives at the same time.
“It was a shocking start, we turned up late and I don’t care what league you are, if you turn up late then you are going to struggle to win any football match.”
Leatherhead’s latest defeat condemned Bullard to a fourth loss from eight league games so far.

He said: “I’ve loved every minute of it so far, to be fair all the negatives I have touched upon, the boys have been brilliant.
“We’ve totally transformed and they’ve taken on what I want them to do in abundance.”
