Blues get the blues at Rye - but are too strong for Arundel
After losing 8-1 at Rye at the weekend, they showed impressive powers of recovery with a 4-2 home win over Arundel on Tuesday night.
The scoreline at Rye could have been even more emphatic – hat-trick hero Scott Ramsay missed a penalty and Rye failed to score against Selsey’s ten men in the last 20 minutes.

Hide AdIt took leaders Rye six minutes to open their account. Liam Upton played a one-two with Sam Adams and his low cross was flicked in by Wes Tate.
Tate beat keeper Warren Boyt for number two. Ramsay latched on to Tate’s ball over the defence and lashed home and the fourth came when Tate released Upton and the midfielder clipped a left-foot finish inside the far post.
Luke Woodley ran more than 40 yards before beating Boyt at his near post.
A Woodley cross was turned into his own net by Toby Pointing and after Ramsay’s penalty was blasted over, he made no mistake two minutes later, burying a header, and soon completed his hat-trick.

At least Tuesday brought relief as Adam Hinshelwood’s men put four past Arundel, welcoming some regulars back into the side who had been unavailable at Rye.
