Davis qualifies for UK Champs
The St Leonards cueman was in fine form as he saw off Michael White 6-2 in the final round of the qualifiers at the South West Snooker Academy in Gloucester on Wednesday afternoon.
World no.17 Davis began the match with a magnificent break of 122 en route to a 3-0 lead. White won two of the next three to cut his deficit to 4-2, but Davis clinched the next two to seal a convincing victory.

Hide AdWhite, the world no.60 from Wales, had won three matches to get to that stage, but was powerless to prevent Davis ending a seven-match winless run against main tour professionals stretching back to late August.
Davis, a former Six Reds World Champion, will play Ding Junhui in the first round of the venue stage in York early next month. Before then, he will line-up in Players Tour Championship event nine in Antwerp this weekend.
Bexhill-based world no.50 Jimmy Robertson lost 6-2 to Gerard Greene in the penultimate round on Tuesday having edged out Kurt Maflin 6-5 some 24 hours earlier.
