Breaking news: Davis beats Higgins again
The St Leonards-based world number 17 was a resounding 5-1 winner over defending champion Higgins in their last 16 clash and now goes forward to a quarter-final against Xiao Guodong tomorrow.
Davis hardly put a foot wrong in opening up a 3-0 lead. A 76 break gave him the opening frame without conceding a point and he took the second 62-35 before edging a lengthy third frame featuring some top quality safety play from both men 57-43.

The result continues a real purple patch of form for Davis, who won the Sangsom 6-Red World Championship in Thailand a fortnight ago and the General Cup - an eight-man non-ranking event in Hong Kong last week.
Davis, who hit two centuries in his 5-2 first round win over world number 16 Ali Carter on Tuesday, whitewashed Higgins 6-0 en route to the six-red title, and he also beat the Scot in the UK Championship and World Championship last season.
