Medal double at leading event
Success in the Haringey Box Cup at Alexandra Palace marked the end of a very successful season for the Whitefriars Road outfit.
The stand-out boxer of the tournament for West Hill was Barry Farthing, who boxed three times in three exhausting days to claim a silver medal in the class C, under-75kg category.

His next bout against Josh Armstrong (Bad Boyz Gym, Nottingham) was equally hard, but Farthing again came out on top for sheer volume of shots landed on his opponent, although he took a fair few himself.
Farthing unfortunately lost out in the final to the skilful Ramon Perez (Sands End ABC).
Belinda Skinner walked straight through to the final of the class B, under-54kg category after a number of withdrawals. Skinner took the gold medal after coming out on top in a scrappy, but hard-fought contest against Swedish boxer Mia Bromenius.

Rhys Verlander (youth class A, under-60kg), Ben White (senior class A, under-64kg) and Steve Garlick (senior class A, under-81kg) were quarter-finalists in their respective categories, while Kieron Pearce (youth class B, under-91kg) and Shaun Attrell (senior class A) got to the semi-finals of theirs.
West Hill would like to thank all the boxers for their efforts, as well as the coaches and supporters.
