Young musicians show off their talents at Midhurst Rother College

It was the annual Rotary Club of Midhurst and Petworth Youth Festival of Music which takes place before Christmas every year and children from Petworth, Midhurst, Easebourne, Harting and Stedham took part together with students from MRC.
President Robert Morrison welcomed the audience and thanked sponsors Roger Poat & Partners, Cowdray Estate, Henry Adams and AWJ Roofing whose generosity will enable donations to the music departments of all the schools which took part.

Hide AdHe also thanked music teacher Rhian Parry who brought the programme together and she was presented with a bouquet.
Included on the musical menu was MRC orchestra playing ‘The Pink Panther‘, and later treating the audience to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen and Cold Play’s ‘Viva la Vida’.
Easebourne pupils entertained with their ukuleles and also sang while Petworth Primary pupils put their acting skills to good use to accompany their song.
Stedham pupils sang and young Harting recorder players raised a laugh by waddling onto stage with yellow gloves on their feet to play ‘Chicken Cluck Waddle by Sarah Watts.

Hide AdMidhurst Primary’s band performed and young choir also performed.
Easebourne Primary School pupils demonstrated the concentration needed for singing two part harmonies.
The concert closed with both performers and audience taking part in a round of ‘Oh, When the Saints’, ‘Swing Low’ and ‘I Wanna Dance’.
The audience were invited to enjoy refreshments and help another set of pupils.
