Lee Harrison, Deputy Harbour Master said: “Very many thanks to everybody who took part in putting on such a fantastic show for the thousands of bystanders that lined the harbour walkways. Despite the uncertain weather forecast on the lead up to the event the clouds parted and the sun shone upon us in the afternoon.
“The waterfront festival is the perfect forum to showcase the mix of commercial and leisure activities that take place in the port and in recent years we have made many advances in improving the ports diversity and have approved the use of hovercrafts, flyboards and hoverboards, we have even landed a plane on the river.
“We are now handling the longest ships in the port’s history, and we remain a busy stop over for visiting vessels from other ports around the UK and Europe. We are pleased to demonstrate some of these activities on the day.”
