The event, increasingly regarded as an important fixture in the country’s musical calendar, will take place at the White Rock Theatre from February 23 to March 4 2017. It attracts brilliant young musicians aged between 16 and 30 from all over the world.
They take part in four stages over the 10 days. The six finalists will play a concerto of their choice with the world-class Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

They will then be invited to a coffee morning at Fairlight Hall, the home of the competition’s major sponsors David and Sarah Kowitz, on Friday, December 2 at 11am.
Volunteers will play a number of key roles during the competition. They include manning the reception desk at the White Rock Theatre, looking after the contestants to make sure they are in the right place at the right time and driving young musicians to the various practice pianos located around Hastings.
