VIDEO: UPDATE: Three homes '˜on fire' in Rye

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to A259 Fishmarket Road after 17 repeat calls about the fire at around 3.35pm.
Up to seven fire engines were at the scene and crews confirmed the fire was spreading to adjoining properties and three properties were affected, according to the fire service.

Hide AdBy 7.15pm, firefighters reported the fire was surrounded and one crew remained at the scene at 9.25pm when the operation was scaled down.
No injuries have been reported.
The main road through the town is closed westbound at Rock Channel with congestion back to East Guldeford, according to BBC Travel.
Three fire appliances were initially dispatched from Rye and Broad Oak.
Crews then requested a further fire appliance which was dispatched from the Ridge, Hastings, along with an Aerial Ladder Platform from Bohemia Road, Hastings.

Hide AdA further two fire appliances were then sent from Battle and Lydd, Kent.
An Incident Control Unit from Bexhill was also dispatched.
Police and paramedics were also in attendance.
