VIDEO: Trolleys filled for Horsham charity’s food parcels
Volunteers from ARK Horsham were at the Piries Place supermarket on Saturday and Sunday collecting donations of non-perishable food and toiletries for the food parcels given out every Tuesday.
The Horsham Lions have also donated toys this weekend for the charity to distribute to its clients.

Hide AdFounding director Lisa Burrell said: “We just want to say a huge thank you to the people of Horsham, and particularly those who were in Waitrose over the weekend, who gave so generously to our foodbank.
“It just makes an enormous difference to everyone that comes through the doors of ARK to receive food parcels once a week or help with many other things that are going on in their live. So a big thank you to Waitrose and to all the lovely ARK volunteers who spent their time over the weekend collecting.”
The charity, which is based at Horsham United Reformed Church in Springfield Road, helps people struggling with addictions, unemployment, homelessness, benefit problems and poor mental health.
The charity’s holistic approach has enabled drug and alcohol addicts to attend rehabilitation programmes.

Hide AdIt has also helped people turn around their lives and hold down jobs or permanent tenancies for the first time in a long time.
Lisa added: “It’s the amount of Christmas items we have had.
“It’s those donations that will make the Christmas Day and Boxing Day that we are open, a truly Christmas event. Everyone has been incredibly generous.”
