Trees committee continues project

Members of the Friends of Lewes Trees Committee planted a mix of wild cherry, alder, field maple and Himalayan birch at the top of Abergavenny Road on Sunday (March 19) as part of its continuing ‘urban arboretum’ project.
The species were chosen especially to attract birds, bees and other wildlife.

Hide AdIn December (2016) the group also planted nine trees in the town – three at the junction between South Way and Middle Way, two at the bottom of Valence Road, three at Abergavenny Road and one at South Downs Road.
