The anonymous pranksters appear to poke fun at the number of severity of potholes in the road, some of which, as photos reveal, are big enough to cause considerable disruption.
‘Remove dentures, secure bra straps, secure your nuts’ the full poster reads, before pinning the blame on West Sussex County Council, which is responsible for maintaining and repairing the roads throughout West Sussex.

Hide AdA spokesperson for West Sussex County Council said: “Hawthorn Road is inspected every three months and works are raised to deal with any defects that are identified as part of these inspections. Our contractors have repaired a number of potholes in Hawthorn Road in the past two weeks and the road is also scheduled for larger resurfacing works next year (2024-25). If members of the public come across potholes, the quickest and most effective way to report them to the County Council is via our online reporting pages.”
