St Leonards flat fall murder suspects re-bailed

Daniel Dawson, 25, died after falling from the flat in Charles Road in the early hours of January 1, just after 4.45am.
Three men aged 35, 26 and 29, and two women aged 29 and 24, all from St Leonards were arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed until yesterday (Thursday, March 2).

Hide AdThey have been bailed further until May 4, while enquiries continue.
Only one man, the 29-year-old, is still arrested on suspicion of murder, while the women and the men, aged 35 and 26, are now arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
The 35-year-old man is also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and attempting to possess cannabis, a Class B controlled drug.
During the early hours of the morning, Mr Dawson fell through the corrugated plastic ceiling of a kitchen annexe in a basement flat.

Hide AdDespite efforts to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is thought he fell from a parapet four storeys up after an incident in another flat within the same terrace.
Mr Dawson’s family said in a statement after he was formally identified by police two days afterwards: “Dan lived his life to the full and was the life and soul of the party.
“He is sadly missed, as he always will be, by his mum, sister, brother, family and friends.
