SLIDESHOW: Thousands turn out for Horsham Sparks in the Park
The event if organised by Horsham District Council and it was opened by its chairman Christian Mitchell.
The day included major crowd pullers such as Kapow wrestling, Boom Tribe’s drumming, a fantastic Community Safety showcase with loads of firefighting equipment, and live music and dance on the Community Stage with popular finale act, The Supernotes delivering a rousing set with something for everyone.

Hide AdThe Stay Safe driving experience for young people, ‘Have a Go’ sports zone, Benson’s Fun Fair, children’s entertainment, tempting food courts and lots of activities for children also proved to be a crowd puller.
The Ariel Drama Academy’s performances in the Human Nature Garden in aid of Chestnut Tree House theatre were a great success playing to the well-attended ‘Picnic for the People’ organised by Jemma Warren’s United Horsham Facebook community.
The picnic brought Horsham families of many nationalities together to share a good time and different foods with eastern European food shops, Paula providing free samples of delicious cakes for everyone to enjoy.
Also promoting their causes in the park were a large number of Horsham Rotary Club led charities and local groups, with the friendly faces representing them contributing to the feel-good atmosphere on the day.

Hide AdCllr Mitchell said: “I am delighted that Sparks in the Park 2016 was such a success and I never cease to be impressed how the event demonstrates what a vibrant community spirit we have here in Horsham district.
“The combination of so many community based organisations and charities coming together along with performers of all ages and local businesses provides a real spectacle for all to enjoy and engage in.
“Of course this year Sparks in the Park is part of the new Horsham Festival of Arts which has a brilliant programme of events in and around the town every day until next Sunday July 17.

The next event for the town is the month long Food and Drink Festival, being launched by the Big Nibble on September 3 and 4.
