At a behind closed doors session of full council, members looked at two offers for the 1.42 acre site, part of Ellis Square which is already home to several businesses.
They have accepted the offer from Contraframe which is proposing to develop the site for industrial use.

Hide AdCllr Gillian Keegan, cabinet member for commercial services said: “Subject to planning permission, Contra-Frame plan to build an industrial unit with parking on the site and as part of this create 43 jobs.”
The decision has been welcomed by Selsey district councillor John Connor: “The sale of this sale is a very positive result.
“It has been on the market since December 2014 and at last we have a buyer who will create jobs - 43 jobs is a very good result and it could be even more.”
The other offer was from the directors of Vetted Ltd, trading as Checkatrade who wanted one acre of the site at a reduced price for a restricted car parking use.

Hide AdCheckatrade already operate from another area of Ellis Square and their expanding business is causing traffic problems in the area, according to Cllr Connor.
“They have a large number of employees coming in by car and they do not have sufficient parking on site. Employees have taken to parking in Manor Road which makes it extremely difficult for cars coming in and out of Selsey,” he said.
Today (Wednesday, July 27) he and officers from Chichester District Council met with highways engineers from West Sussex County Council and representatives of Selsey Town Council to discuss ways of making traffic in Manor Road flow more easily and safely.
“Discussions at still at an early stage,” Cllr Connor told the Observer, “but we hope to create gaps in the parking in Manor Road so that cars, particularly larger HGVs can pass each other.”
