Hide AdJohn Holbrook, Chairman of the Film Club, said: “We show contemporary films to audiences once a month providing a much loved service to local people who cannot access cinema in Ashford or Hawkhurst.
“This year has been a bumper crop of Oscar nominated films. In addition, on the third Friday of the month we have been showing films shot in and around Rye, such as Dr Syn and Yellowbeard.
“Next month we start a series of classic films on the big screen with Passport to Pimlico, and David Lean’s Oliver in November.
“It is also a lovely social occasion and chance for friends to catch up over a glass of wine before the screening.”
