ST MARY’S: This Sunday, we celebrate Candlemas and the Presentation of Christ in the Temple. The morning service will be led by Revd Lucy Hollingsworth and is especially welcoming for families. Come and learn more about this important moment in Jesus’ life. We are particularly lucky to welcome the Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes, the Ven. Martin Lloyd Williams this Sunday to celebrate Holy Communion at 8am and lead the Eucharist service at 6.30pm. Members of the congregation are busy gathering sponsorship for good causes. Abigail joins friends from Ringmer Primary and Nursery School for a Welly Walk on Sunday, raising money for Patina and the Year 6 Moving on Parade. Marisa is in the middle of a pedometer challenge and walking 795 miles in four weeks (she has help form her team at East Sussex Highways). Emily is preparing for the Brighton Half Marathon, running in aid of the Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice. We wish them all well, please let them know if you would like to sponsor them. We continue to pray for Revd Beth as she prepares to recommence duties soon. Rather than inundate Beth with emails and phone calls, we ask that you contact Shirley Squires or the church wardens in the first instance and they will pass your requests and messages on. All contact details are in the parish magazine or on the church website www.ringmerchurch.org.uk
BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday January 25, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Liz and Tim Owen; 2, Barrie Smith and Alan Grindley; 3, Frank Hibbert and George Montgomery. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall next Wednesday at 7pm. Contact 814220.
