Residents gather to say no to seafront ‘skyscraper’
Armed with placards and posters, residents of the area surrounding the derelict Aquarena site, in Brighton Road, Worthing, gathered outside the former swimming pool to demonstrate against developer Roffery Homes’ plan for the site.
A recent consultation at the Beach Residences, in Marine Parade, revealed the 139-home £40 million development would include a 21 storey tower.

She said: “We know the council want to get the highest price to get the money back they wasted on the swimming pool roof. They want to put another carbuncle in the town and it’s so wrong. It’s out of place, and it’s going to cause a shadow right across Brighton Road.”
