There was an unannounced inspection last month of the home, run by Andrew Hill, which provides accommodation and care for up to 17 older people, whom of whom are living with dementia.
In their report inspectors said the registered manager had been absent in the months before their visit and some aspects of the service ‘had fallen behind’. Records for each resident were not always ‘accurate or complete’.

Inspectors found there was a varied activity programme which people enjoyed. Residents were valued as individuals and encouraged to be as independent as they were able and to contribute to life of the home.
The report added: “Staff understood how people’s capacity should be considered and had taken steps to ensure people’s rights were protected in line with the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). People told us staff treated them with respect.”
They felt safe at the home, enjoyed the food and were offered a choice of meals.
