Its aim was to divert traffic away from Haywards Heath town centre and late last year West Sussex County Council was consulting with residents and businesses to see how they had benefitted from the new route.
Now a Haywards Heath Town Centre Transport Study has been put together to make the town a ‘more attractive and vibrant place for people to visit and support local businesses’.

Hide AdIt lists potential improvements to the Muster Green gyratory, the Commercial Square roundabout, and the Sussex Square roundabout, and also a mix of gateway features at the three roundabouts on the A272 to ‘promote the impression that the routes into Haywards Heath are intended for local traffic, and to encourage through traffic to use the Haywards Heath Relief Road’,
A county council report explained that ‘all schemes are only at the feasibility stage and no preferred options have been identified by the county council’.
The last section of the road was opened a year ahead of schedule thanks to 24-hour roadworks.
In light of the study we are asking readers what they think of the proposals, which they would most like to see delivered, and what else they want to see changed in Haywards Heath town centre.
