The current commissioner has already slashed spending by £65m in the last five years, and is cutting a further £12m this year, and £7m to £8m in each of the next three years.
That means 700 fewer frontline police officers and 300 other staff, or one fifth of the police in Sussex!

Reducing re-offending means focusing on rehabilitation and restorative justice, so criminals pay back victims and the local community. This cuts crime, saves police time and taxpayers money.
I will fight really hard to get a better share of Government funding.
