After being set up in 1980 with visits to San Quirico de Orcia, Italy, in 1991 the group also twinned with Ranville in Normandy.
Chairman of the association Janet Duncton said at the association’s annual general meeting, members decided they would have to ‘disband’ unless someone came forward to take over the mantle: “This year we had a wonderful visit from our French friends and next year they will be expecting us to visit them.

“Many of us have made friends in both Italy and France and I am sure those friendships will continue for many years to come.”
Anyone interested in running the group is asked to contact Janet on 01798 342528.
Janet added: “If you put something into it you will get twice as much fun out.

“I would also like to thank sincerely all the people who have helped hosting our visitors on the many visits over the years.”
