Permission granted to restore Halnaker Windmill
Work is expected to start early next year to refurbish the Grade II listed building and reinstate the sails which have been missing since early 2015.
It was hoped the much-anticipated repair work on the tile-hung façade would take place this summer, but there was a delay in planning approval, and it cannot be undertaken during winter.

He added: “I realise that this delay will come as a disappointment, but as soon as conditions allow in spring we shall be ready to start work straight away.
“If the works continue to plan we expect the sails to be refitted during the summer, as originally planned.”
The sails continue to be kept in safe storage and will undergo necessary repair and redecoration before being reinstated.
The refurbishment work is expected to last 14 weeks.
