Students and staff at Bartons Primary School on Lethaby Road came together to plant a tree memorialising Queen Elizabeth II following her death.
At a special ceremony, which took place on Friday, September 30, the newly elected school council were joined by County Councillor Keir Greenway and chair of governors Chris Barratt to plant the tree and place a unique plaque designed to celebrate the moment.
The Magnolia tree has been dubbed ‘Elizabeth’ in honour of the late monarch.
