Rotary club supports Eastbourne Foodbank with weekly donations
A Rotary Club of Eastbourne spokesperson said their weekly lunch meetings at the Lansdowne Hotel have been suspended because of the virus, which has led Rotarians to agree to pay their weekly lunch fees to the Foodbank.
Club president Christine Haniver said, “As a club we do much to support local charities and were wondering what we could do during this period to help locally when our fundraising events are on hold.

“The Foodbank is in desperate need because of the higher demand from hungry families. And we know this has been greatly appreciated.
“Our contributions will continue. It is rewarding to know that even when we are in lockdown, rotary can still provide help where it is needed.”
As of May 21, according to the club, the donations have reached a total of £1,525.
