Some 1327 poppies have been knitted by members of the congregation and friends of the church.
It is the first time the church has done this after the idea came from Yvonne Dyer, a member of the congregation.

Hide AdFather Mark McAulay, the vicar of St Saviours’s, said how the project has brought people together in ‘a common purpose during this difficult time’.
The poppy carpet is on display throughout November in the church foyer and can be viewed between 9am-5pm - this applies through lockdown too.
The carpet also includes blue poppies which are in memory of the horses who died in conflict.
Father McAulay said, “It is humbling to think of the love, care and respect which has gone into creating each of these 1327 poppies, and the carpet itself.
“It is a wonderful and entirely fitting way for us to honour those who bravely gave their lives in war for the freedoms we enjoy.”
