Warehouse worker Ryan Latter spotted the artwork – a girl running painted next to the message ‘Live, laugh, love’ – over the weekend while on the way to the shops.
The 29-year-old, who lives close to the artwork, said he thinks the painting on a wall in Ifield Road appeared over Saturday night.
Ryan added: “I didn’t really notice it for a while.

“It has the same kind of style. It’s like his signature but it could be an imposter.”
If the artwork is confirmed as being by Banksy it would be a ‘big boon’ for Crawley, Ryan said.
He added: “I would be so happy if it’s a Banksy. It’s worth checking out at least.

Ryan has his fingers crossed the work is authentic, but he said even if it isn’t by the famed artist it’s still ‘nice to look at’.
He added: “Even if it’s not Banksy it’s the kind of graffiti you don’t mind.
“It livens the place up. It’s just a little pick me up for people walking past.”
Representatives for Banksy have been approached for comment.
