Some of these paths form part of the green circle network, a series of footpaths, cycle tracks and bridleways linking the green sites around the edge of the town.
Recent improvements to the green circle path and cycleway between Gatehouse Lane and Malthouse Lane have now been completed and reopened to the public.
The 11-route plan will improve links by: resurfacing or surfacing where required with an appropriate finish; removing barriers to provide accessible facilities to all; signposting routes where using road carriageway.

The early improvement schemes require no changes to on-street parking and will not impact any bus routes.
