It is being run on West Sussex County Council crowdfunding platform Spacehive for West Park, in Shaftesbury Avenue, Worthing.
The concept, loosely based on the growing movement of community parklets, will feature three benches formed around a square, set on a concrete base, with integrated planters around the perimeter and in each corner.

Group chairman Adrian Cothard said: “This brilliant project will keep on giving to the community on many levels – it will deliver safely distanced seating where people can relax, interact and connect as well as providing our park’s first ever seating away from its play area.
“The mini community garden will also give local children the opportunity to get involved and take ownership of planting and displays, we also envisage this as being a real focal point in the local community where pre-schools, primary schools and the scouting/guiding groups can enjoy the facility in the great outdoors.
“Sadly, Worthing has a particularly acute epidemic of social isolation and loneliness, especially in the more mature age groups, hopefully this project can go some way to alleviating this and give something to look forward to in what has been a very difficult time for everyone.”
