Eastbourne Bandstand reveals 2021 opening date - and changes to winter shows

The seafront attraction has been closed ever since the first coronavirus lockdown in March this year.
It will remain closed for the rest of 2020, with this year’s popular free Christmas concert and New Year’s Day events cancelled.

Hide AdBut it’s not all doom and gloom, as the council has just announced the Bandstand will be officially returning on April 23, 2021.
A summer of live music from tribute acts to brass bands is planned, with an additional 30 shows.
However, winter 2021 Bandstand events will be held in the Winter Garden Theatre instead.
Eastbourne council tourism boss Margaret Bannister said, “We are thrilled to announce the much-loved performances at the Bandstand will return in 2021 after a year of cancellations.

Hide Ad“Music lovers can enjoy performances at the iconic seafront venue throughout the summer, but the fun doesn’t stop there. We are pleased to announce that from 15 October Eastbourne’s Bandstand will be going on tour!
“We will be bringing the classic Bandstand experience to the newly refurbished Winter Garden Theatre in the Devonshire Quarter throughout the winter until March 2022.
“As ever, public safety is the number one priority and we will continue to keep up with the latest guidance to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the Bandstand in a safe way.”
Audiences can look forward to a ‘jam-packed’ weekend schedule come rain or shine from October 15, 2021 – March 2022 in the inter Garden Theatre with ‘Eastbourne Bandstand on Tour’.

Hide AdIt will feature tribute acts including ELO, Madness and Queen, the new venue offers plenty of space for seating and dancing.
Friends of the Bandstand will benefit from discounts at the Winter Garden Theatre bars and the DQ Terrace Bar and Café, in addition to their existing benefits. A 3 year Friends of the Bandstand membership costs £5.
Tickets go on sale for the 2021 season from December 1 (November 1 for Friends of the Bandstand) and can be purchased at www.eastbournebandstand.co.uk
