Burgess Hill student completes Three Peaks Challenge at home for Whitehawk Foodbank
Zoe Cheal, 11, started her challenge after reading an article recommending the fitness benefits of running up and down your stairs three times a day.
The Burgess Hill Girls student decided to give this a go and while doing so it occurred to her that she could climb the equivalent of a mountain.

Hide AdHaving already climbed two of the Three Peaks, Snowdon and Scafell Pike but not yet Ben Nevis, her family suggested she should try to complete the equivalent of the Three Peaks challenge.
The combined height of the Three Peaks is 3,408 metres, so Zoe worked out from this that she would have to run up and down her stairs 1,520 times.
She began the challenge at the start of the February and completed it within 20 days.
She decided to seek sponsorship and support the Whitehawk Foodbank in Brighton, raising £3,245.

“One good thing about lockdown is that it has bought my family even closer together.
“Hopefully in the future we can all complete the actual Three Peaks together.”
