The piazza was abuzz with visitors on Saturday, April 24, as both vegans and non-vegans alike turned up to see what many of the stalls had to offer.
Organiser Helen Crabb, who also launched the town’s first vegan fairs in 2019 and 2020, said: “We were very pleased with our first Piries Place Vegan Market on Saturday – I think we can definitely call it a success.
“We had lots of vegans visit the market throughout the day, but equally lots of our visitors weren’t vegan but were just happy to have something a little different going on in the town.
“Many of the traders also commented on what a nice piazza it was and how well the market was suited to it.”
A range of plant based and cruelty-free items on offer included eco-friendly goods, cold savouries, cakes, vegan cheese, pies, make-up, dog treats, body care and more.
Piries Place Vegan Market will be in the piazza on the last Saturday of every month from 9am-4pm, with the next taking place on May 29.
All profits from the market go to to Holbrook Animal Rescue and Animals Asia.
