Reader letter: 'I was stunned and appalled at Chichester shop's Halloween display'
I was stunned and appalled to see nooses hanging in the Halloween display of the window of a respected charity shop in Chichester.
One noose had been placed around the neck of a witch. At my insistence the manager reluctantly agreed to modify the display, initially unwilling to run the risk of offending the volunteers who assembled it.

We are now living in a world that has truly gone mad, where people have become immune to these shocking images, and where the ugliness of life is endorsed, embraced and encouraged as fun and ‘the norm’.
In this PC and Woke obsessed world, where a gentle Nativity scene would probably be banned, it has somehow become alright to expose our children to concepts and images from the dark side.
Is there any wonder that there has been an explosion of violence and mental health issues among the young? And how much are we, the so-called grown-ups, responsible?
